Right now I am sitting in class working on my Masters of Arts in Educational Technology through MSU in Galway, Ireland. This is year #2 of #3, and each summer is 4 weeks. Last summer was extremely stressful (don't get me wrong, my professors were amazing!), but for some reason this summer hasn't been. Not sure why, because it's just as much work. Who knows? Maybe I'm growing? Anyways, here are some of my favorite pictures I've taken this summer in Ireland from my iPhone.
Wow! 2.5 years have passed since my last post. I know that no-one is reading this, but I still feel the need to update it since I want to become a better blogger... and I want to remember my experiences overseas.

Every time I click on one of my social media accounts all I seem to see is people saying how bad 2016 was, & that 2017 can't come soon enough. After shaking my head & rolling my eyes, I scroll past. 2016 was like any other year: people die, things happen that you don't agree with. The thing people are forgetting is that you have a choice how something affects you. Just like in Evan Almighty, an act of random kindness can change your world - and other people's. If you don't like something, change it. But I digress. 2016 - God - was amazing to me this year. I don't know why as I've not been the kind of follower I need to be. But He sure has taken me to some amazing new places - 4 continents - this year: Grand Deco resort, Mt. Bandai, Japan where I learned to ski; Kyoto, Japan with some amazing Christian ladies; Phuket, Thailand; teching for a marching band; Garmish Partenkirchen, Germany for a music teacher conference, home to family in the States for Thanksgiving, and New Zealand with my mom. I couldn't be more thankful. He also helped me plan a music adjudication for multiple international schools, and let me be chosen to represent music teachers at that amazing conference in Bavaria. All this for a so-so teacher. This year, just like any over the past 6, has brought loss, but I know that I am not in control - He is. Yes, I struggle with depression, but He still brings out the best in me. I'm very excited to see where 2017 takes my friends, family, students, & myself. (PS - sorry that there aren't any pictures - I'm sitting in the hotel lobby in Auckland waiting to be transported to the airport.) (PSS - and sorry, everyone knows that I'm not a writer. 😂) Proverbs 3:5-6 Yesterday a few friends & I went whitewater rafting at Canyons in Minakami. Here's my video (1st one ever with my GoPro!). Enjoy! (Music is Dive by Steven Curtis Chapman) I apologize for not keeping my blog up to date over the past few months. Time sure has flown by! Yikes. Over the next few weeks I am going to attempt to get everyone up to speed with the goings-on over here.
For starters, my parents came to visit in December. It was great seeing them & spending time with them. We didn't travel around much, but we were able to see a few sites locally. Here are some things we did (click on the pictures for the captions): |
