This evening a friend and I walked around near where I live to try and find some kitchen chairs for her. There is a resale store around the corner from my house, so we decided to go there. She was not successful in finding chairs, but I was able to find a wooden freestanding coat rack! Ever since seeing Mary Poppins I've always wanted a freestanding coat rack. To top it all off, I don't know where the Japanese hang their jackets – maybe they hang them in their clothes closets in their bedrooms? – And I have not been able to find one in any stores… Except tonight! Originally it was ¥12,000, which is about $100 - $110-ish. Well, one of the pegs was broken all the way through, so I asked if they would take any money off since it was broken. Needless to say, I got a much better deal. Here is my coat rack in its new home:
After finding that and bringing it back to my house, we went to a restaurant also just around the block. Now, hamburgers in Japan are very different then American hamburgers. Normally it's not all cow meat… It's other meat as well mixed in. Needless to say they're "different." However, I found an amazing mushroom & cheese burger and awesome strawberry cola!
